Goals

Almost a year ago, my dear friend Stephanie lost her son to a choking game.  I will never forget her words one day on Facebook about children.  (Not verbatim, I don't remember it exactly.)  "Take the time to play with your kids, listen to them, tell them you love them...you never know when you won't be able to anymore."  I will never forget that.  I always tease The Girl that I kiss her too much and tell her I love her too much, but I don't think that is possible.  (Which, of course, I say that, too.)  I have certain shows I like to watch on TV, but I've decided not to watch them anymore (at least at their scheduled time - I can catch them online), instead to play/cook/draw/create with her.  I want her to look back at her childhood fondly, remembering all the times we had "The Girl/Mommy" days or nights.  Tonight's project?  These 3D stars to hang in the house/her room, etc...

Paper Stars

My goal right now is to make every single day special with her.  She's already 4!  When she is older in a few years, I know I will look back on these years and I don't want them to be with remorse that I didn't do more with her.  These look pretty easy, so why not?  We have lots of fun, pretty paper left over from the V-Day party!

ETA:  These are not as easy as they look.  If you don't make each point EXACTLY the same, you end up with funky sizes and you can see the hole in the middle after gluing the two pieces together.  They should state that you should measure where you cut the paper so each side is EXACTLY the same size.  But, it was fast and came out cute, nonetheless.  (At least, my four year old loved it...it's hanging in her room!)
