I am quite tired this morning. I woke up at 4:30 to a nightmare that The Girl was drowning. She slept in our bed last night, so I had to pull her very close to me and listen to her breathe heavily for the next hour and a half just to reassure my mind that she WAS ok. Scariest. Dream. EVER.
Last night, we went to a high school girl's soccer game. DH is teaching again (thank goodness!) and we like to attend the sporting events of the school he teaches for - gives him a sense of community. Anyway, it was a beautiful night. Sunny, but cloudy, cool, breezy - very fall-like. The Girl and I were in hoodies, jeans and sneakers and DH, naturally was in a short-sleeved shirt. That man is never cold! Anyway, it was just a perfect night as a family.
She is going on her first field trip today - to the apple orchard! She was so excited this morning, but confused as to why DH and I weren't going with her. The school no longer transports children (insurance) so she is riding with my friend, Angela whose daughter also attends preschool with The Girl. I hope she has fun...I'm excited to hear about her day. She did GREAT yesterday. She showed me her work she did while there. They had a sheet to teach them about patterns - she got them all correct. Then, they had a few different sheets to teach them colors. Each sheet had three different objects and she had to color the ones that were the color the sheet was corresponding to. IE - banana, corn, and a turkey - which ones are yellow? She got them all correct! :) I am very proud of my little girl. She's a smart cookie, but we knew that long before preschool. ;)

Where is Joe teaching this year? And is it permanent or long term sub? And which orchard is she going to? I love apple orchards!
He's at LC, teaching special ed/behavioral disorders through Westlake. He teaches Government, Econ, History, Reading, and Life Skills. So far, it's permanent but he has to go back to school to keep his emergency license (and to get his Special Ed Master's).
She went to County Line today - I have yet to hear how it went! :)
Sweet! That's awesome! :) Congrats to Joe!! :) Oh!! I love county line- they have bees there, and they teach the kids about them. Very educational, yet fun! :)
OMG Deb, I have those terrible dreams about my daughter drowning too!! Usually mine involves us driving over a big bridge, it collapsing (or us slipping on ice), and me not being able to get her unbuckled from her seat in time! SO....I now have this horrid fear of bridges!! And, even though I know it's wrong, I unbuckle my seat belt while I'm on one....just so I at least have that part done and can get to her faster if possible.
