I just filled out an application to return to college in the spring. With Joe working now (THANK YOU GOD), I figure as long as I make up what we pay out for insurance, I can work part-time and return to school. I'm not getting any younger and...AND!!!!! did you know your credits can EXPIRE?!?! According to PUC (Purdue University Calumet), science credits expire for transfer after five years. So...mine are expired. I took them in 98ish...which, by my count, is more than 5 years ago! :)
Now...the big question...should I major in....
Elementary Education?
Nursing?
Hmmm....decisions, decisions, decisions...

Hmmm.... that's a huge decision. Nursing is getting overcrowded, and el. ed, unless you get a good endorsement like special ed, it's really hard to get a job too. If you decide to do nursing, I'd look into Ivy Tech, they are cheap for nursing, they're really good, and you can do classes online!
C, I am going to apply for nursing and go from there! I am applying to PUC first. I've heard some "horror" stories about credits transferring - I don't know if Ivy Tech is involved in that, but I have a friend in PUC Nursing and she is really happy with it.
That's cool! I've been looking into nursing too, and I'm just passing along what I've been told from current students! Yeah, I don't know- Ivy Tech is the only school around here. Well, Marion University, but they just started their program, so they're not accredited yet. How is Valpo? And are you going right for your BSN or getting your ASN and then having the hospital pay for your BSN?
I am going for my BSN. I already have a BS, and I have to take prerequisites anyway. So, in the end, it would be about the same amount of time in school. Eventually, depending on how it goes, possibly go on and get my MSN and teach; or even get my Nurse Practitioner license. I am so excited for it, though!
Very cool!!!
