I have a few minutes of down time at work, so I thought I'd post something really quickly.
I am losing my hair. Really. I am. The Crohn's has affected my absorption of vitamins and minerals so much that my hair is falling out at a rapid rate. In the last month and a half, I have lost over half of my hair. I am using Nioxin for my shampoo and conditioner. I am using Rogaine for Women. I am also taking Biotin as a supplement. I don't know if the Biotin will work, though since it's an absorption issue. My dr tested me for B12 deficiency, but I haven't heard anything on the results. (Well, the biotin is working, I think...my nails are definitely stronger.)
It stinks, though...I am so self-concious of it and it scares me that I could be bald by the end of the summer.

Girl, I have crazy thin hair as well. It started getting better after my hysterectomy. I still lose a ton about 6 weeks after a stressful occurance, so you can imagine how bald I was looking starting the middle of January 2009!! Have you had all of your hormones looked at too? Thyroid esp. And of course stress. :( I'm confused to a certain extent- if it's an absorption issue, why are your nails fine? Make sense?
