17.35%

On December 26, 2008 I stepped on the scale and almost died.  I was at the heaviest point in my life and I couldn’t even believe what I was seeing.  I immediately decided to make a life change.  Through hard work and dedication, I lost 12 pounds over the next weeks.  Unfortunately, due to injuries and illnesses, I was unable to work out or even eat properly. (Pneumonia, sprained knee, Crohn’s Disease flare-up that hospitalized me and a pulmonary embolus.)  I haven’t fully recovered from all of these (as you know, my Crohn’s is still very active), I have had an additional blood clot since then and I’ve also sprained my ankle.

However, the Crohn’s (while I wish this wasn’t the way to do it) has caused me to lose weight.  I have lost 42 pounds since that cold day in December.  That’s 17.35% percent of my body weight that is now gone.  I stepped on the scale early yesterday morning and was quite excited about the number I saw.  It’s back to the hard work and dedication to make this happen the right way.

I’m in the 100 Pushup Challenge, I am going back to walking (including The Girl along with me, of course) and eating better.

I am FINALLY lighter than pre-pregnancy weight, so that is a HUGE motivator.  HUGE!!!

One day, I’ll tell y’all what my high number was.  It was disgusting, that’s what it was.  But for now, just help cheer me on and keep me going.
