I just read an article on Yahoo! Finance about the 17 most annoying words/phrases uttered in business for this year.
http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/108433/the-most-painfully-annoying-business-jargon?mod=career-leadership
I would like to add to that article:
-shoot off an email/shoot you an email: Why don't you just SEND them an email? Are you firing this email from a cannon or a gun?
-let's put our heads together: Why not just have a meeting? I don't think I need to be that close to you in order to think. To follow that (or some like to say, "piggyback" -ick)
-brainstorm: What the hell is going on in your head?!
I'm sure I have some more, but in the meantime...just general office stuff that drives me nuts.
-People who have signatures automatically attached to their email and STILL sign the email. Do you need to reinforce that you sent it so much you have to sign it twice?
-People who sit on my desk. Get your smelly ass off my desk and away from my papers. Also, don't just throw stuff on my desk - HAND IT TO ME. I'm sitting here, I have working arms and hands, and it only takes a second.
-People who loudly announce the bathroom stinks. So someone had to poop. Buy air freshener or don't go in there for a few minutes. Bathrooms stink - get over it.
-People who type LOUDLY. It's a keyboard, not an early year typewriter.
-People who linger around my desk and don't know how to tell I am working. GO AWAY - I will talk to you later!
-People who carry their freaking coffee cup with them everywhere. Put a nipple on it and nurse it already. This isn't the effing Sahara. Put your effing coffee down and drink it at your desk.
-In general, people who kiss the boss' ass. It's annoying and embarrassing.
-People who BRAG to other coworkers how drunk they were at the office Christmas party - woo hoo!!!! You made an ass of yourself in front of your superior's! Way to go, champ!
Hmmm - I think that's it. I will edit it if there are more. I have a lot of time on my hands right now at work, and these are things I have noticed over the past few days.
